The Host's New Trailer To Debut During Live Google Hangout This Thursday
The more we see from the feature adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's alien invasion story The Host, the more hopeful I am that Andrew Niccol's film will capture the source material's full potential. We recently shared a featurette, which focused on Diane Kruger's character The Seeker, and gave us a few glimpses of some of the action featured in the film. This week, we'll see even more from the movie as the new trailer is set to debut this Thursday. The trailer will be released during a live "hangout" with some of the cast and Stephenie Meyer, which is scheduled for February 14 and seems like a nice Valentine's Day treat for fans of the book.
Fans looking to get the inside scoop on the upcoming film can "tune in" to The Host's YouTube Channel on Thursday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. PST (2:00 p.m. EST) for The Host Live Google Hangout. The Hangout will feature author Stephenie Meyer, as well as stars Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons and Jake Abel. The new trailer will debut live during the Hangout.
The Host stars Ronan as Melanie and Wanderer, two characters sharing the same body. The former is the original human occupant of the body and the latter, the alien "soul" who has taken up residence there. The story is set in a world that has been almost completely overrun by body-snatching aliens, with a small human resistance remaining and hiding out from the Seekers. As mentioned, we shared a video last week, which focuses on the main "Seeker" in the story, played by Diane Kruger. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Kruger will be featured in the Hangout, but we will see Max Irons, who plays Melanie's boyfriend Jared, and Jake Abel, who plays Wanderer's love interest Ian.
Fans who want to ask questions for the Hangout are invited to do so in this Facebook post.
The Host arrives in theaters March 29. More information, photos and video can be found in our Blend Film Database.
