How Much Would You Pay To See Anchorman 2 Early?
As December approaches, we're seeing more and more of Ron Burgundy. He's selling us Scotchy Scotch Scotch (ice cream), he's advertising Dodge Durangos, and he is inspiring real-life local news madness. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is ready to take the world by storm, or at least that's the idea behind its latest posters. I AM ROGUE presents these outrageous character posters that have Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Champ Kind (David Koechner), and Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) larger than life and stomping through New York City like Godzilla. But if you can't wait until this Christmas to see the sequel to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, AMC has some good news.
The Wrap reports Paramount Pictures has teamed up with AMC Theaters and Fandango to offer "super tickets" for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues which will allow holders to see the film two days before it's set to make its nationwide debut. The price for this special pass has not yet been announced, but a similar Mega Ticket deal that enabled moviegoers to see Paramount's World War Z in 3D two days early cost $50 each. Though it should be noted this steep price tag also came with an HD digital copy of the movie, a pair of World War Z 3D glasses, a limited-edition movie poster, and a small popcorn.
It's unknown how much World War Z's Mega Ticket earned for the studio, and they are not telling, but some digging revealed that four of the five theaters offering the ticket were sold out. Paramount isn't revealing what the price of the Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Super Ticket will be, nor are they unveiling what its other enticements are or in what cities it will be made available. But you can go to the Anchorman movie site to sign up for the e-mail list that will keep you in the loop if you're so inclined. The Super Ticket will go on sale November 26th.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens December 20th.
