The Hulk Won't Appear Again Until Avengers 2
Comic book fans were stunned yesterday when the brand new Iron Man 3 trailer arrived online and finished with a shot of Tony Stark's Hulkbuster armor crashing through a wall. Comic book fans recognize the suit as one that the hero known as Iron Man designed in order to fight and control the Hulk - as the name suggests - but it's appearance in the preview resulted in fans speculating wildly about the possibility that Mark Ruffalo could make an appearance in the Marvel film.
Sadly, the Oscar nominated star has splashed some cold water on that thinking. Earlier today the actor took to his official Twitter feed to clear up rumors about what's going on with the Hulk in Marvel's Phase Two plans, and sadly it sounds like we're going to have to wait a long time until we get to see everyone's favorite green monster again.
There have, of course, been the rumors that Planet Hulk and World War Hulk movies are being planned post-Avengers 2, but nothing has been confirmed to this point. The only projects that we know about in Phase Three include Edgar Wright's Ant-Man,which is dated for November 6, 2015, and Doctor Strange, which Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige talked about in late January. Of all the Marvel characters Hulk is easily one of the most challenging to write for, so in a way it's a good thin that the studio isn't rushing anything based on the popularity of the character in Avengers.
