The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Posters Introduce Some Badass Rebels
Francis Lawrence's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 will have more than a few familiar faces, from Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen (duh) to Liam Hemsworth's Gale (featured in the poster above), but just like in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, we'll be meeting plenty of new faces as well. There's a large number of new characters within the world of Panem who aren't too happy living under the thumb of President Snow and the folks in the Capitol, and in the upcoming sequel they will be doing something about it. So are you ready to meet them?
Including the artwork featuring Gale above, Wired has debuted a series of six brand new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 character posters that put a spotlight on some of the rebels that audiences will be cheering on come November when the film arrives in theaters. The first of newbies is Cressida, who is described as being a propaganda documentary director. She is being played by Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer in the movie, though obviously she is sporting quite a different look in the sci-fi series:
Next up is Messalla, who is played by Evan Ross in the movie. You can expect him to be hanging around a lot with Cressida, as he is introduced to the story as her assistant:
Third and fourth we have the brothers Castor and Pollux (whose names you might remember from Greek and Roman myth). Their guns aren't quite as big as Cressida and Messalla's, but they fight right alongside them as cameramen. Here is Wes Chatham as Castor:
And Elden Henson (Fulton Reed!) as Pollux:
Finally, we have Boggs, who is being played by House of Cards' Mahershala Ali. While Katniss can definitely take care of herself (as we've seen many times in this franchise already), as the leader of the rebellion in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 she needs special protection, and that's where Boggs comes in:
Look for all of these stars along with Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which will be in theaters on November 21st.
