Hunter Stops To Smell The Flowers

Ever since seeing the atrocious Nine Lives, I’ve been hoping for a new Holly Hunter movie to come and replace this last distasteful memory. It looks like my prayers have been answered.

Production Weekly reports that Hunter will headline a new movie called Frost Flowers, and this time it doesn’t involve crazy, self-absorbed bickering ladies. Frost Flowers is described as an erotic ghost story. Hmm, I never quite looked at Casper that way before.

The story, written by comic writer Mike Carey and to be directed by Andrea Vecchiato, is about a woman from the spirit world who is impregnated by a young, happening actor. He finds that he has the bizarre power to both touch and see her, but they face a predicament: their love can only be reconciled with his death, in exchange for the love and life of their child.

Joining the cast are Rupert Evans, Margo Stiley, Gordon Macdonland, and Gavin Rossdale (lead singer of “Bush”/Gwen Stefani’s main squeeze). Shooting will begin in London this October.
