I Give It A Year Trailer Features Rose Byrne, Minnie Driver And Stephen Merchant
Fornication. Seeing as that's the first word mentioned in the trailer for I Give It A Year, it seemed fitting that we kick off this article in similar fashion. Of course, it comes out a lot funner when spoken by Stephen Merchant as part of a wedding speech. The speech only gets more awkward from there, but Merchant shines in awkward humor. And he isn't the only one.
Written and directed by Dan Mazer (Bruno, Da Ali G Show), I Give It A Year is a British comedy that focuses on the first year of marriage. The cast includes Anna Faris, Olivia Colman, Rose Byrne, Simon Baker, Rafe Spall, Minnie Driver and Merchant, who you'll see in the trailer below, which comes courtesy of Yahoo.
We begin with an uncomfortable wedding speech and end with the incredibly awkward "I mixed the sex photos in with the travel photos" slideshow moment. And in between is a taste of the comedic potential of the cast, particularly with Driver and Byrne, who get more than a few humorous lines, which is more than we can say for Anna Faris, who appears silently in the trailer next to Stephen Merchant as he crams his foot further and further into his mouth. Love, relationships and awkward moments appear to be the theme here and given the involvement of Bridget Jones's Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan as producers, that seems fitting.
I Give It A Year has its UK release February 8, 2013, which puts it just in time for Valentine's Day over there. No word yet when we'll see it stateside, but it looks like a funny movie, so hopefully we won't have to wait long.
