The Ice Age: Collision Course Trailer Is Hysterical And Promising, Watch It Now
Traditional knowledge dictates that when starting any endeavor, you put your best foot forward. If this teaser trailer for Ice Age: Collision Course is any indication, that best foot is pretty damned promising. You can enjoy this first look at next summer's animated offering below.
The folks at 20th Century Fox are always smart when it comes to selling a new Ice Age film, as almost every teaser in the franchise's history has been focused on the antics of resident punching bag Scrat. With his quest for his beloved acorn taking him far and wide, through dimensions of time and space, it's his antics that usually make for the best moments in an Ice Age film. With his acorn winding up as the key for a dormant spaceship, mischief is definitely in the air as Scrat unknowingly creates the cosmos.
Seeing the poor woodland hybrid encountering massive G-forces, all the while forming the universe as we know it, is worth the two and a half minutes it'll take to watch the Ice Age: Collision Course trailer. Though as fun as Scrat is to follow, he's not the main focus of our story. That duty returns once more to the hands of Manny, Diego, and Sid – played by Ray Romano, Denis Leary, and John Leguizamo – receptively. Through four adventures in prehistoric history, our pals have made it through everything the world has thrown at them. Considering their latest threat is presumably the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs, we're wondering just how the trio is going to get out of this sticky situation.
As much as we should be paying attention to the story proper for Ice Age: Collision Course, we can't help but wonder what further trouble Scrat is going to cause throughout the latest film in the canon. Surely, the stakes can only get higher with each passing segment that features the accidental anarchist, and an extinction level meteor is quite the hard act to follow. Which means that we'll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for the next look into the continuing adventures of Scrat, as well as his many returning co-stars. Though here's hoping that our usual gang of friends can find some new guides along the way, as they're going to need all of the help they can get, in order to escape certain death.
Ice Age: Collision Course hits theaters, literally and figuratively, on July 22, 2016.
