Iron Man 2 has started filming, and a couple of sites out there have started spying on the production, bringing us some wonderful images of Robert Downey Jr and other cast members in costume and back on set. It’s actually pretty exciting to see the return of Tony Stark, and damn if Tony Stark doesn’t bleed out through every pore of RDJ’s body. Put him in a custom suit, give him the cool goatee, and the character is instantly there.
I’m less sold on Don Cheadle as Rhodey. Of course, frequent readers of the site know I’ve been feeling that way all along. Seeing him in uniform doesn’t help with that too much. He just feels wrong for the part… which is a shame, because I do think Cheadle is a far superior actor than Terrance Howard. I just don’t think the fit is right here. Hopefully that’ll go away once we see Cheadle in motion.
