Iron Man 3 Midnight IMAX Showings Include A Limited Edition Mondo Poster

Iron Man Imax Mondo poster

As you can see from the fairly excellent Iron Man poster above, Marvel Studios, IMAX and Mondo have joined forces on this poster incentive for those who attend the midnight showing of Marvel's Iron Man 3 in IMAX on May 3rd. The poster depicts Iron Man himself, clearly on the rise, his head facing upward and his arms down in launch position. In the background, other ironclad heroes are also in flight - likely the mentioned "backup" featured at the end of the exciting trailer.

The poster above features the artwork of Mondo artist Jock, whose past work includes a pretty stunning black and white portrait of another masked super hero who also happens to have a well funded alter ego. See Jock's Dark Knight Rises poster here. The limited edition Iron Man 3 poster will be available exclusively to IMAX fans as part of the IMAX 12:01 program. Those who see the film at IMAX theaters at midnight on May 3 will receive a print. It's a pretty great incentive, in addition to getting to be among the first to see the film on the giant big screen, right? The promotion is "while supplies last" and fans are encouraged to visit Imax.com for a list of participating theaters.

Iron Man 3 will have Tony Stark asking himself if the man makes the suit or the suit makes the man as he goes up against a dangerous foe after his personal life is left in ruins. Directed by Shane Black, the third film in the franchise stars Robert Downy Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebeccal Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley. We have less than a month to wait to see the film. Iron Man 3 arrives in theaters May 3.
