It's All About The Spy Romance In Bourne 4

Turns out the details were a little fuzzy when Frank Marshall told us back in June that a fourth Bourne movie would depart from the books-- particularly the fourth book, The Bourne Betrayal, which was not even written by Robert Ludlum. The fourth book is still off the table for now, but producer Frank Marshall told Coming Soon that another Ludlum novel might act as source material for the next adventure.

"The Parsifal Mosaic is one that we like," Marshall said, referring to Ludlum's 1983 novel about a spy-- not Jason Bourne-- who falls in love with another spy and believes she's dead, but later finds reason to think she's not. Oh, and she also might be a double agent. Sounds a little like the end of Casino Royale-- and also a story I wouldn't mind seeing Jason Bourne be part of .Will Ludlum fans be outraged to see Bourne in a story where he doesn't belong? Or is it all gravy so long as Matt Damon is still wandering the world and ready to kick ass?
