It's A Family Affair
The Farrelly Brothers used to make movies that were offensive, crude, and full of parties of perversions. There's Something About Mary made cum jokes seem acceptable. They have since matured--or gotten extremely boring--depending on your point of view.
According to Variety, they will produce (and possibly direct) a rom-com called Hall Pass, released by 20th Century Fox. The film is written by Pete Jones. Not familiar with the name? He was the guy who wrote Stolen Summer, the disasterous first-release launched by HBO's "Project Greenlight". Nobody saw that movie, but Fox is hoping that someone will see this one. It may need some of the Farrelly Brothers old gross-out humor to help it track an audience.
Hall Pass is about a married couple that finds themselves incredibly bored in their relationship. Instead of spicing things up with trips to Bermuda or trying position 54 in the Kama Sutra handbook, they come up with an alternate means: infidelity. The wife grants her husband a 'hall pass', which sounds a lot like the 'free pass' explained in the show "Friends." Basically he is given permission to get his kicks elsewhere. Always the formula for a healthy marriage.
