Keeping track of the cast of the upcoming Dallas movie is starting to become a bit dizzying. After months of rumors and speculation, it was starting to seem like they’d settled on a group of lead actors and were about to get down to the business of filming, but apparently not.
EOnline is reporting that Jennifer Lopez has suddenly dropped out of the project without any explanation. Her publicist simply announced, “She’s out.” JLo had been set to star as the boozed up sex-a-holic Sue Ellen Ewing, wife of J.R. Ewing as played by John Travolta. Bitchy, big-haired bad girl comes naturally to Jennifer, and she’d have been a perfect fit.
Now the film is left scrambling to find a replacement. So far, no names have been put forward which may suggest her ditching is nearly as much of a surprise to the movie’s producers as it is to all of us.
JLo isn’t the first person to ditch the star-studded film. Earlier this year the movie’s original director Robert Luketic left, only to be replaced by Bend it like Beckham director Gurinder Chandha. Luketic previously directed JLo in Monster in Law so it’s possible she was only involved because of him and is now leaving since he’s no longer there, but if that’s her reason then it took her long enough to figure it out. Luketic has been off the project for months.
