We tend to hold up old horror movies as paragons of the genre, examples of how good things used to be before we ruined everything with boogeymen like Freddy and Jason. But maybe by hiring Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus to remake the 1943 classic I Walked With a Zombie, RKO is just trying to prove that not all that much has changed in the history of cinema horror.

[[ br. ]] Variety reports that Race to Witch Mountain remaker Andy Fickman is involved, meaning you can't swing a polecat without finding someone who's remade a movie someone else considers a classic.

Turns out Fickman has his fingers in a lot of remake pots-- he's overseeing new versions of The Body Snatcher, Bedlam, and Five Came Back, meaning those now-obscure titles will be thrilling teenagers in a few year's time. Then a whole new generation can start complaining about how those damn kids just don't remember the good stuff.
