Jessica Alba In The Ten
I was really excited about The Ten, until I saw it earlier this year at SXSW. Tell me you’re making a movie in which Jessica Alba, Adam Brody, Rob Corddry, Paul Rudd, Famke Janssen, Gretchen Mol, Oliver Platt, Winona Ryder, Liev Schreiber star in a film about interconnected stories related to the Ten Commandments and that sounds like something you have to see, right? You would be wrong.
For the most part, The Ten is plain awful. It’s not a bunch of interconnected stories, rather it’s a bunch of stupid sketches which really have nothing to do with one another except that they're in the same film. Except, well, it’s almost worth sitting through the unfunny monotony in order to get to Gretchen Mol’s part of the movie. Her 1/10 of the film is pure, heavenly, hilarious genius. In it, Gretchen Mol inadvertently meets Jesus in Mexico and has a lot of sex with him. Jesus rides around on a Segway while his exploits are narrated by a filthy old Mexican.
The Ten hits theaters this August, and ThinkFILM has just released a bunch of new assets for it. We’ve got images from the film here, and the film’s first poster is up over here. More importantly, The Ten has a new trailer and it’s below. Sadly, there’s not nearly enough Gretchen Mol on Jesus action. Watch it:
