How much would you pay to see Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba playing football in lacy underwear? Is it worth the price of a movie ticket? Someone must think so, because M&C is reporting that the really lousy, mostly unwatched Superbowl pay-per-view special “The Lingerie Bowl” is being turned into a movie by a major Hollywood studio. Alba and Simpson are supposed to star.
“The Lingerie Bowl” featured models playing football in semi-erotic underwear. Actually, the underwear wasn’t all that sexy and the event was even less interesting than it sounds. The rumored movie version is being described as an Alien vs. Predator type face-off encounter, which I guess means Jessica Simpson is going to spit acid and stab Jessica Alba with a trident.
Jessica Simpson I can see doing something as bad as this. She’s proven herself quick to jump on any role that calls for a hot, dumb, blonde. Remember, Baywatch: The Movie may also be in her future. But you’d think Jessica Alba would have better standards. Granted, she’s worked with Paul Walker, but she’s also worked with Robert Rodriguez. She’s not exactly a serious actress, but she’s got enough successful movie work on her resume that there’s no reason she’d need to touch a lowest common denominator idea like this.
Not that I wouldn’t want to watch it. In fact, I might go get in line right now. I just don’t understand why anyone would want to be in it, or be associated with making it. Is there really a movie in this concept? How could you get more than twenty minutes of film out of it? If there’s a way, I don’t see it.
Right now this is just a wild rumor, and even M&C affirms that there’s a good chance this one is full of crap. The thought of the two Jessica’s battling it out in erotic underwear on screen is almost too good to be true, and things that seem too good to be true usually are.
