Here’s an indicator that Tropic Thunder is going to be every bit as awesome as the trailers promise: Justin Theroux, the guy who wrote the film, has just been hired to write Iron Man 2 as his next project, according to Variety. It doesn’t get more high profile than Iron Man, and the fact that Marvel has that kind of confidence in him after having only written one script has to mean that the one he wrote, Tropic Thunder, is pretty damned good.

Till now though, Theroux has probably been most well known as a comedic actor. The one or two of you who saw The Ten may remember him as the best part of the film. He played a horny, Segway driving, Mexican Jesus. He also had a major role in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and he’s been in everything from Romy and Michele's High School Reunion to Mulholland Drive. Now he’s responsible for the future of Iron Man.
