Jet Li Is Fearless In North America
Jet Li is an undeniable martial arts wizard. He has whooped some serious ass in films such as Hero and Unleashed (known overseas as Danny The Dog). Nobody with half a brain would pick a fight with this guy.
According to Hollywood Reporter, his recent Chinese martial arts film Fearless has been picked up by Rogue Pictures. The Focus Feature genre division has landed all the theatrical and home video distribution rights in North America.
Last weekend, Fearless blew away the box office competition in Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Rogue Pictures is hoping for similar results in our neck of the woods. In the biopic, Li plays famed martial artist Huo Yuanjia, who overcame his personal and physical battles to become the most famous Chinese fighter at the turn of the 20th century. Ronny Yu is the director, and Christine To and Chris Chow penned the screenplay.
Fearless is being billed as Jet Li’s last martial arts film ever, but we’ll see about that. Check for the movie in theaters later this year.
