Jim Carrey Shows Off His Full Costume In First Official Kick-Ass 2 Image
Jim Carrey has had a mixed record when it comes to comic book adaptations. On the one hand you have The Mask, which is still a very funny comedy that has very little tonal connection with the work its based on. On the other hand, however, you have Batman Forever, which, while not as bad as Batman & Robin, is still considered one of the worst comic book movies ever made. So, in a way, Kick-Ass 2 - which will feature Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes - could serve as the perfect tie breaker for his career.
Comic Book Movie has posted a scan from the new issue of Entertainment Weekly giving us our first official look at not only Carey in full costume, but featuring the return of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular amateur superhero. You can see the image below and if you head over to the source you can see it full size.
Written and directed by Jeff Wadlow based on the comic series by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., Kick-Ass 2 follows the events of the first film and sees Dave Lizewski (Taylor-Johnson) team up to fight evil with a group called Justice Forever, led by Colonel Stars and Stripes (Carrey). And it's a good thing that he joins when he does because Chris D'Amico (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) has also returned, but with a new moniker - now going by the name of The Mother Fucker - and a sadistic new attitude. Universal Pictures will have it in theaters June 28th and to learn more about the movie, which co-stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Morris Chestnut, John Leguizamo, and Donald Faison, head over to our Blend Film Database.
