Joe Carnahan Will Lead The A-Team
The A-Team movie has already found a replacement for recently departed director John Singleton. According to HR it’s Joe Carnahan. Mark this day down on your calendar as the firs time that anything about this project has made any sense.
Singleton always seemed like a strange choice to direct a movie like this anyway. Carnahan however, couldn’t be more perfect. Take Smokin’ Aces, water it down to a PG-13, mix in a few jokes about one of the lead characters’ fear of flying and you’ll end up with A-Team. Joe is the perfect choice.
Carnahan doesn’t have the job yet, but he’s in negotiations to take over which means the movie’s producers must want him. And it’s not like Joe has anything better to do, he’s flopped around like a dead fish since getting attention for Smokin’ Aces back in 2007.
Now that they’re close to getting a director set, perhaps we can dispense with all the unfounded rumors and get around to coming up with a cast. I have no idea how you replace an iconic figure like Mr. T, but I’m pretty certain you don’t do it by casting a fat, Disney-humping teddy bear like Ice Cube.
