John Krasinski Is The Captain America Frontrunner

You may think Captain America ought to have bigger muscles, a stronger jaw or less of a tendency to give reaction shots to the camera, but too bad: John Krasinski is apparently now the favorite to play Steve Rogers. Fox 411 has a source telling them, "It's very likely that he will be the new Captain America. He is a favorite among the key decision makers and has been asked to come back for more this week."

They've also got representation from the other sides, the geeks working at Marvel who aren't so wild about Krasinski in the role (like many of our commenters): "It's a surprise and we are bracing ourselves for 'that guy from 'The Office'' to land Captain America. They are not really looking at the other guys, so it's time to get ready to work with him."

Given that we've been hearing rumors that Cap would be cast about a week ago, it wouldn't surprise me to see this news become official very, very soon. So guys, how do we feel about this? Now that Jim Halpert has entered fatherhood, is it time for the next logical step of saving the world? And how will this affect The Office, given that superhero movie shoots can drag out far longer than the average TV hiatus? Is it time for Jim to take his own turn taking art classes in New York or, like Andy, going through anger management? They might manage to piss off Marvel fanboys and Office fans in one fell swoop.
