Much like the character himself, Warner Brothers is playing games with fans of The Dark Knight. We’ve gotten to see some pictures of Heath Ledger as The Joker, although most of them have been unclear or partially obscured in shadow. To my knowledge, the best image we’ve gotten so far was a result of the post-Halloween scavenger hunt – a game repaid by a picture.
It looks like we’re finally getting a chance at a clear, unobscured look at The Joker, courtesty of Empire Online, who promises “He is coming…” Of course, a game is involved, in this case, the waiting game. The image is partially covered with playing cards which are vanishing slowly to reveal the picture beneath. So far we can see his legs and multicolored socks. Wait, his left arm just appeared as well. Woo Hoo!
While all we can do is sit and wait for the next 3 days until the image is theoretically completely unveiled, it’s interesting to take in the details we are privy to right now. I just hope this doesn’t end with some disappointing “trick” that continues to keep us from seeing a clear shot of his mug. That kind of advertising only tends to work for so long and, sooner or later, Warner Brothers is going to have to show us The Joker in all his new splendor.
