Karen Gillan's Guardians Of The Galaxy Character Gets A Head Shot
She's a pirate. She's a mercenary. She's a villainous alien. And according to director James Gunn, Nebula is the "interplanetary Clint Eastwood" of his upcoming Marvel movie, Guardians Of The Galaxy. Take a look.
Guardians of the Galaxy centers on Peter "Star-Lord" Quill (Chris Pratt), an American pilot who becomes the target of a massive manhunt when he successfully steals an orb sought by the malevolent and psychotic Admiral Ronan (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug's Lee Pace). Helping Quill evade a dangerous band of bounty hunters is a motley crew of outlaws and outsiders made up of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel).
Nebula is Guardians of the Galaxy's main female villain, who works in league with Ronan. She's an out-of-this-world badass who is destined for a brutal showdown with her ex-colleague in crime, Gamora. And she's played by Scottish ingenue Karen Gillan.
Gillan is best known for her long run on Doctor Who as companion Amy Pond, whose fiery attitude matched her lush and long red hair. Gillan stunned fans at Comic Con when she revealed her enviable ginger locks had been completely shaved off for the role of Nebula. For those unfamiliar, here's what a difference a foot of hair makes:
Next up, we offer a side by side of Guardians of the Galaxy's live-action Nebula next to her comic book inspiration.
Now how about a bit of Gillan's Nebula makeover in action courtesy of a couple of GIFs from All Things Marvel.
