Clearly Kate Hudson has not been paying attention to the people who wish she would ditch the throwaway romantic comedies in favor of the kind of movies that actually remind us she has acting talent. Variety reports that Hudson is joining the cast of Something Borrowed, a romantic comedy set to star Ginnifer Goodwin as a woman who gets involved with her best friend's fiance.
Hudson will play the best friend, described in the books as a self-centered publicist type-- a role that could actually be comedic fun if Hudson really goes for it. To be fair, Hudson has been likable and funny in a lot of even the most awful movies she's done, and Goodwin is so enjoyable to watch that maybe some of the charm will rub off. It's not exactly a return to Almost Famous, but if it's better than Bride Wars I'll be satisfied.
