Kevin Kline Does Magic Tricks
Kevin Kline is preparing to crash an illusionist family affair.
According to Variety, he is in talks to join The Great Buck Howard, starring Tom Hanks and son Colin. Bristol Bay Productions is backing the magician movie, after Sidney Kimmel Entertainment pulled out. Playtone’s Hanks and Gary Goetzman are set to produce, and Sean McGinly (Venomous) will write and direct.
Kline is negotiating to play a renowned magician whose career is heading down the nearest sewage pipe. Colin Hanks will play a kid right out of school that tends to the magic man as his personal assistant, while Tom takes on a smaller role as Buck’s dad who disapproves of his son's career choice. Parental approval seems to be impossible to come by, even when spells are involved.
Production will begin in New York in July.
