Kingsman 2 Just Hinted At The Return Of A Major Character
Warning: spoilers for Kingsman: The Secret Service below
It goes without saying that Kingsman: The Secret Service was a major hit that came packed to the brim with memorable characters. From Samuel L. Jackson’s delightfully campy Valentine, to Taron Egerton’s breakout performance as Eggsy, the James Bond spoof provided some of the best spy caricatures in recent memory. One of the best characters came in the form of Colin Firth’s Harry Hart, who tragically died at the hands of Valentine prior to the film’s conclusion – or so we thought. A new photo has hit the web indicating that Harry may very well resurface in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Check it out below.
As you can see from the above image – tweeted by the film’s star Taron Egerton – it features Harry Hart’s trademark pair of glasses with one of the eyes missing. Anyone who has seen the film will be able to tell you that the lens is likely missing because Harry very clearly met his demise from a bullet to the head at the end of the film’s second act. However, below the glasses are the iconic words of Mark Twain stating "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." We’re no experts, but it seems like we’ll be seeing more of Harry Hart at some point during Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
This raises one very important question: how the hell could Harry Hart come back to life? It seems like it won’t be a dream or a hallucination, because the image seems to point to the fact that he did indeed take a bullet to the head. Seriously, just watched Harry’s death scene from the original Kingsman and try to tell us that he didn’t get shot.
If this image isn’t a bluff, and Harry does in fact return, the film may take steps to retcon that moment from the original Kingsman and show the bullet only grazing his eye; Colin Firth consistently showed himself to be quite the agile man during the course of Kingsman: The Secret Service, so it's possible he may have dodged the worst of the attack.
As perplexing as this hint is, we have to say we’re incredibly excited about the possibility of Colin Firth potentially returning as Harry Hart. His charisma elevated the original Kingsman, and he could undoubtedly provide the same level of gravitas to the sequel.
We will keep you up to date with all of the latest and greatest Kingsman news as it becomes available to us. Kingsman: The Golden Circle will hit theaters on June 16, 2017. Stay tuned for more details!
