Larry The Cable Guy The Movie
Here's my confession: There was as time when I liked Larry the Cable Guy. Hold on before you start lynching. It was back before any of you had likely heard of him. Back when he was doing local Texas radio, back when he was barely a step above a yuck monkey.
Since then, he's exploded into a redneck cultural (oxymoron alert!) icon. He's also worn that shtick of his plumb out. I laughed at Larry because I thought he was making fun of rednecks, as it turns out, he was glorifying them. That ain't cool.
Larry the Cable guy has parlayed his "Git R Done" catchphrase into a multimedia Southern empire, whose success educated folk are at a loss to explain and perhaps wisely, a little bit afraid of. Now he's taking his promotion of farting, illiteracy, and all the worst aspects of the human genome to the movies, in the upcoming movie, Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector.
We have the first trailer for the film, and rather appropriately it's hosted by the most low-rent, lousy website on the internet: Geocities. If websites were ethnic groups, then Geocities would be the website ethnic group most likely to leave a car up on blocks in the front lawn. Or in this case, the website most likely to host a movie trailer for a film starring Larry the Cable Guy.
