Larry Charles hasn't worked with Larry David since Curb Your Enthusiasm wrapped up in 2007, but by God, if Larry doesn't call up Larry to work on his next project, neither of them has any sense. Charles has signed on to direct a comedy for Columbia Pictures called Winter's Discontent, and try to read the plot description without picturing Larry David: "[The movie] centers on a sexually frustrated widower who moves into a retirement community with his best buddy -- looking to get laid."

OK, so the getting laid bit isn't exactly Larry David-- he's about the most asexual actor I can imagine. But really, he's still the perfect choice. The Variety piece doesn't mention any actors in line for the part, but it seems fair to assume that Charles is at least considering teaming back up with his old friend. Could he maybe bring in Jeff Garlin to play the sidekick, or is that wayyyy too good to be worth getting our hopes up?
