What sets the first trailer for The Last Exorcism apart from all the other trailers you’ve seen for dozens and dozens of other exorcism movies? Nothing except that it’s shot like a reality show. It’s not exactly revolutionary. It’s a formula that’s already been applied to everything from witches to alien invasions to hauntings. I guess they had to get around to exorcisms eventually. So if you’ve been longing for an exorcism movie that’s shot like The Bachelor, you’re in luck.
The film follows all the usual exorcism plot devices. A reverend who questions his faith is called in to extract a demon from a young girl on a creepy old farm in the middle of nowhere. She writhes around and the devil just won’t get out. Here’s the trailer for The Last Exorcism:
