Latest X-Men: Days of Future Past Set Photo Takes Us Back To The Days Of The Vietnam War
A few weeks ago director Bryan Singer was posting images of Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde, Halle Berry as Storm, Shawn Ashmore as Iceman and Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X, suggesting that the production was busy shooting the part of the film's plot set in a post-apocalyptic future. Now, however, it's becoming abundantly clear that the filmmaker is now heading back to the past and delving into the 1970s-set storyline.
Last night Singer posted an image of what appeared to be the Oval Office during the administration of President Richard Nixon, but it was hard to be sure without a clear shot of the Commander in Chief or a wall calendar. That said, there's no confusing what era the newest picture is taken from. As you can see above, the latest image from the director's Twitter feed has gone online, and just in case you're not a nerd about flag design, those are from the countries of Vietnam and South Vietnam (you may remember some key things about their US relations from history textbooks). Sadly we don't really know what's going on in this scene, but Singer did leave the message, "GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!! #xmen #daysoffuturepast."
In addition to the stars mentioned above, X-Men: Days of Future Past also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart and Fan Bing Bing. Production will likely go on for the next few weeks as the film prepares for its July 18, 2014 release date.
