Latifah Remakes All Of Me
Queen Latifah is remaking a Lilly Tomlin movie. That sounds about right doesn’t it? It’s been a very long time since we were all fooled into thinking she had something by Chicago.
Variety says she’s signed on for a do over of the 1984 comedy All of Me in which Steve Martin and Lilly Tomlin switch bodies and hilarity ensues. It was kind of funny in 1984, but in 2007 or whenever it comes out, it’ll probably still be funny but only to the sorts of people who think Norbit is hilarious.
The movie reunites Latifah with Adam Shankman, who’s producing All of Me: The New Batch. The last time they worked together it resulted in Bringing Down the House which coincidentally, co-starred All of Me’s Steve Martin. Hopefully this doesn’t mean he’ll be involved in remaking his own movie. It’s more likely that Latifah will play the Steve Martin role and they’ll find some spare to take Lilly Tomlin’s dying heiress character.
