Leo Blinks
Let's just get this out of the way right now: Leo isn't half as cute as he used to be. There, I said it. I feel much better!
According to Hollywood Reporter, his next picture will not involve sinking ships or his favorite recurring director, Martin Scorsese. Univeral Pictures has picked up Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking and Leo has snagged the starring role. The non-fiction best-seller by Malcolm Gladwell is being adapted and directed by Stephen Gaghan. He has previously done Abandon, but since he's probably hoping you didn't know that, his upcoming more promising release is Syriana.
Blink is about the type of thinking that happens in the blink of an eye, hence the title. When you first encounter someone, read a page, smell a new aroma, your mind takes 2 seconds to draw it's own conclusions about it. The story focuses on those 2 seconds when your mind is making these pigeon-holing decisions.
The premise sounds interesting, although I'm not sure how they can turn something like that into a full length movie. I guess it's a "wait and see" kind of deal. You should go see it to support Leo. He really could use the money.
