Most people probably know Peter Woodward best from his role as Galen on Babylon 5. Granted I'm not most people so I know him best from The Patriot. No matter how you know him, you probably know the actor. Did you know he's also a writer? Maybe that's because nothing he's written has drawn much attention....so far. His next effort, however, is getting some big names.
According to Empire Online, Woodward's Closing The Ring will be made into a film for 2007 with Richard Attenborough at the helm. The classy Shirley MacLaine and lovely Mischa Barton have now signed on to star.
The movie follows a WWII gunner whose B-17 bomber goes down over Ireland. With his final breath he begs a townsperson to take his ring and get it back to the love of his life who is back in the US. The ring fades into memory only to be found again fifty years later by a man who decides to fulfill the dying soldier's request.
