Magneto Movie Still Happening... Probably

David S. Goyer has his hand in seemingly every superhero related movie out there. The man knows no bounds between Marvel and DC, bouncing from The Dark Knight to Blade and even taking the time to direct crap like The Unborn in the meantime.

He's also been attached to the X-Men spinoff project X-Men Origins: Magneto for a while now, even though it wasn't really mentioned in the great cash rush that followed this summer's Wolverine. MTV asked him about it recently, and all he could tell them was a vague "They're still thinking about doing it. They're definitely looking into doing other X-Men spinoffs."

Well, yeah, I could have told you that much. Whether Magneto will be the focus of one, whether Ian McKellen will somehow play the role, nobody's saying, though Goyer promises "that project will move forward in the next year or so." So more vague promises with very little reason to believe the resulting movie will actually be worth watching-- unfortunately, that's what we've come to expect from about 60% of the superhero projects currently "in development."
