Malkovich Floats Teens
John Malkovich is set to enter the exciting world of teenage boat buying.
Production Weekly reveals that the bald headed Humma Kavala has signed on to the indie film Drunk Boat based on a play about boys who buy a boat while their parents are out of town. At least it’s a new take on the old “while the parents are away” genre, but sounds rather 1950’s to me. Judging from the title, along with the boat buying there will be excessive amounts of teenage drinking. That could be something.
Drunk Boat is being directed by Bob Meyer, who also wrote the original play. Apparently, the play is based on his teenage life, which must have really really sucked. No parties or school dances for him. Just boating. Maybe even a little fishing. Drunk Boat starts shooting May 23, and will be not seen in theaters by any of you several months later, since it’s a boring sounding indie.
