Man Of Steel Trailer Finally Shows Superman Hitting Something
Finally, Superman hits something!
The full trailer for Zach Snyder’s Man of Steel just dropped. “The world’s too big, mom,” a young Clark Kent tells his adopted mother (played by Diane Lane). And then we see how big Snyder’s vision is going to be. See for yourself:
The trailer uses a lot of the voiceover themes expressed in earlier <=""> trailers, with Superman wrestling with his place in our society. We get more shots of the bus crash that was a pivotal scene in Warner’s Comic-Con footage, with an older Clark helping save students from a watery accident … and the moral complications the human faces when pressed with revealing his extraordinary powers. We get more shots of Superman in costume. The tone’s still VERY emo, with a church-like hymnal score (that sounds a whole lot like the Gladiator score) and some gorgeous imagery. We see him take off from the snowy tundra, and we see him fly.
Then, finally, we see scenes of carnage and destruction that Superman fans have been praying for. There’s a quick shot of Michael Shannon’s Zod, as well as Russell Crowe’s Jor-El. We see Supes colliding in mid-air with another character, presumably Zod. We see him being thrown against the steel vault that was shown in the earliest of teaser photos. And we wee the military bracing for the Man of Steel. Is it enough to get you excited? Do you still crave more action? I kind of do. But I’ll need to watch this another 1,000 times before I make up my mind. Man of Steel will be in theaters on June 14, 2013.
