The Man With The Iron Fists Lands A Release Date
The first red band trailer for The Man With The Iron Fists had a lot of things. There was lots of blood, plenty of extreme violence, and even a dash of fantasy. One thing that the project didn't have, however, was a release date. Though Universal started the marketing campaign, the RZA-directed movie has long had a question mark in place of an arrival date. That has officially been changed.
According to Deadline, the studio has announced that The Man With The Iron Fists will be released on November 2nd. The move puts the film on a hot date, as it will go head-to-head with two wide releases and a highly-anticipated limited release. Paramount previously announced that Robert Zemeckis' Flight, starring Denzel Washington, will hit theaters that day and Disney's Wreck-It Ralph will also be competition. Seven Psychopaths, Martin McDonagh's follow-up to the much-loved In Bruges, will be in select theaters that weekend as will the horror film The ABCs of Death.
While it's certainly a packed crowd, the truth is that The Man With The Iron Fists is going to appeal to a very specific demographic and those not interested in the other movies coming out that weekend might rush to it. The film's cast that includes RZA, Russell Crowe, Jamie Chung, Lucy Liu, and Dave Bautista and tells the story of a blacksmith who is forced to take up arms to protect his people.
