Mark Wahlberg Will Have At Least One Other Human Co-Star For Transformers: The Last Knight

Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise has begun a transformation of its own. With Age of Extinction, the franchise has set out on a new path seemingly completely separate from where it began in 2007. Part of this change involves a larger emphasis on the titular shape-shifting robots, as well as bringing in new actors to play the Transformer’s human counterparts. Mark Wahlberg will once again headline the next installment in the Transformers franchise, but we’ve just learned that an up-and-coming Nickelodeon actress will definitely join him on this adventure.

Actress Isabela Moner recently took to Twitter to announce that her next major project will take the form as a role in the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight alongside Mark Wahlberg:

So it seems that the next Transformers movie just added its next major human actor to help Mark Wahlberg kick some robot ass. We can now confirm recent rumors that seemed to indicate that Isabela Moner will portray a character by the name of Izabella in the latest sci-fi/action adventure. After three movies headlined by Shia LaBeouf, the series shifted the focus away from his character Sam Witwicky to Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager. The latest installment in the Transformers franchise represented something of a soft-reboot for the franchise to follow this new protagonist – as well as an increased emphasis on the Transformers themselves – so it remains unclear exactly how newcomer Izabella may factor into the narrative of the upcoming film, but earlier reports surrounding her casting had indicated that the character will be a street-smart "tomboy" who can look after herself in the face of all this Michael Bay-inspired chaos.

Despite her young age, Isabela Moner has kept herself incredibly busy over the last few years. At 14 years of age, she has appeared in numerous Nickelodeon projects, and has experience in both live-action, and voice acting. Although her biggest credits to date mostly come in the form of TV movies and series, Transformers: The Last Knight seems to represent a major effort for her to break into the film industry in earnest. In addition to the latest Transformers movie, she also finds herself currently working on The Nut Job 2, adding further credence to her versatility in both live-action, as well as animation.

A few days after Isabela Moner revealed her involvement in the upcoming Michael Bay film, the director announced the subtitle and established the official designation of the film as Transformers: The Last Knight. Ms. Moner used this opportunity to confirm that she is very much involved in the upcoming Transformers adventure:

We will bring you more information concerning Transformers: The Last Knight, and Isabela Moner’s role in the film as it becomes available to us. The latest installment in the Transformers franchise will hit theaters on June 23 of next year.
