Marlon Wayans may be back on track to restore honor to the family name. Yes, he's got Dance Flick coming out in May, but he'll also play a role in this summer's G.I. Joe, and has now signed on to star in and produce The Year of Living Biblically.

The movie will be based on the book of the same name by A.J. Jacobs, who spent a year, as the book's subtitle calls it, obeying the Bible as literally as possible. Variety writes that Julian Farino, who has experience directing episodes of Entourage, The Office and Big Love, will direct this film.

Wayans comes from a comedic dynasty, and obviously has comedy chops himself. It'll be nice to see him step outside the Scary Movie/White Chicks mold of awful comedies and try something new-- provided Biblically doesn't turn out to be awful, of course. It's probably too late to hope that for Dance Flick.
