Marvel Pushes Their Mystery Movie Back A Couple Months
Looking at the Comic Con schedule for Saturday the 14th, the only movie scheduled to be previewed for Marvel Studios is Iron Man 3, but we know that they will have more in store for us than just that. There's nothing on the books, but there is some expectation of a few surprises. One thing expected is the reveal of what will be the mystery movie of 2014. For months now we have been left speculating about what the project would be and recent news has suggested that it will be The Guardians of the Galaxy. Whatever it turns out to be, though, we're going to have to wait a few extra weeks for it.
Box Office Mojo has gotten word that Disney and Marvel Studios has moved their untitled second 2014 movie from May 16, 2014 to August 1st, 2014. It will be the first title from the studio to be released in August, as all of the others have come out in either May, June or July. The film doesn't currently have any competition on the new weekend (a big surprise considering it's still two weeks out), but one could foresee the movie getting competition from the X-Men: First Class sequel, which is dated for July 18th.
Marvel's other upcoming release dates include Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor 2 on November 8, 2013, and Captain America 2 on April 4, 2014. The studio is also currently developing a sequel to The Avengers, however, that project does not yet have a release date.
