Marvel Teases New Iron Man 3 Character Poster
The marketing campaign for Iron Man 3 has really enjoyed the "tease...then release" form of promotion over the last few months. Prior to the release of the film's first theatrical trailer Marvel Studios and Disney released two different 10-15 second previews and even the movie's Super Bowl spot was just a taste of a new full-length trailer that could be viewed online. But it's not just the comic book movie's video ads that are being teased before release. It's spreading to the posters as well.
Marvel's official Facebook page has posted a teaser of what appears to be a new character poster for Iron Man 3 that will appear online tomorrow. The sliver of the poster that is shown is a pretty small percentage of the full one-sheet, but judging from the face and what appears to be a shoulder-mounted Gatling gun I assume that the full image will be Don Cheadle a.k.a. James "Rhodey" Rhodes wearing the new Iron Patriot armor that will be featured in the movie. Check out the preview below and be sure to come back tomorrow for the full reveal!
Iron Man 3 is co-written and directed by Shane Black, and is set to be the first film to be released as part of Marvel Studios' post-Avengers Phase Two plans, which will also include Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World (November 2013), Joe & Anthony Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 2014), James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy (August 2014), and finally Joss Whedon's The Avengers 2 (May 2015).
