Marvel's Thor Headed For Reshoots
Thor is supposed to be finished with principle photography but now it looks like Kenneth Branagh’s Norse god turned superhero movie is headed back in front of the camera. This is more than just calling back some of their actors to pick up a couple close-up shots, Whats Playing says they’re even casting more extras.
In particular they’re looking for people to take non-speaking roles as “Nordic” men, women, and children with “charactery faces”. No official word yet on just how extensive these reshoots are but it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s anything wrong with the movie. It’s pretty common for a director to ask for a few reshoots after he sees what footage he has and this may just be a case of trying to make something they already have even better. Thor isn’t due to arrive in theaters till May 6, 2011, so there’s no rush. They have plenty of time to get it right.
