Debunking the news we were hearing on Monday that Aussie Robin McLeavy had gotten the job, THR is reporting that Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast as Mary Todd in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the revisionist history action spectacle to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov. Benjamin Walker is set to play Lincoln, with Anthony Mackie and Dominic Cooper on board in supporting roles.

Though the book by Seth Grahame-Smith covered Lincoln's entire presidency, as he devoted his life to killing vampires and preventing the uprising of the Confederate vampires during the Civil War, Winstead and Walker will obviously be playing young versions of Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln. We've heard previously that Bekmambetov is committed to casting lesser-known actors in the film, but Winstead is already relatively well known for her role as Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and will star in Universal's upcoming prequel The Thing. At this point Walker-- a Broadway actor who turned down the chance to play Beast in X-Men: First Class-- is by far the least famous of the main cast, but given how magnetic he was in Broadway's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, that probably won't last long.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is set for a June 22, 2012 release.
