Well finally after some no name nobody actor tried to get his 5 minutes of fame by claiming the rumours were false, it seems that Mr McGinty IS 100% no longer involved with Superman.
A Warner Brothers spokesperson has announced that WB and McG had parted ways. The spokesperson said the main reason was that the two parties could not agree on a budget... or casting... or... er... shooting location. So things were clearly going well(!) McG wanted to film in NYC, Warners wanted Australia.
It's also been made known officially that now that McG has left, they are under no obligation to use J.J. Abrahms bastard son of a script.
