Melissa George Exposes Her Fangs
Unless you’re a big “Alias” fan, you may not be familiar with up-and-coming Australian actress Melissa George. I know her best as Camilla in the ultimate mind-screw Mulholland Drive and the under-appreciated Dark City. Director Sam Raimi, of an itty bitty series called Spider-Man, is trying his hand at making her a bigger name.
According to PR Web, Melissa will star in the bestselling graphic novel adaptation 30 Days Of Night with Josh Hartnett. No, it has nothing to do with that dreadful teen sex movie 30 Days and 30 Nights that he previously starred in; I apologize for reminding you of that traumatizing experience.
In 30 Days Of Night, George and Hartnett will play husband and wife (Sheriffs Eben and Stella) who protect the peace in the quiet town of Barrow in Alaska. Since the town is so far north that the sun doesn’t rise for 30 days during the winter, it becomes a haven for the world’s vampire population. The married sheriffs, constantly escaping the vampires’ bloody nibbles, come up with a plan to fight back. Between this movie and Alan Ball’s upcoming HBO series, vampires appear to be back with a vengeance.
