With the majority of studio movies filming in Hollywood and New York, the almost unparalleled scope of major motion pictures frequently gets lost. The actors, the crew, and even the extras are recycled through, film after film, making the whole process a lot more seamless. Now and again, a production breaks through those routines and moves somewhere utterly bizarre. When that happens, the shear circus of it all becomes quite apparent. That’s happening right now in New Mexico.

According to Film And Media Day, Santa Fe has organized a massive casting call for anyone interested in working on The Avengers, Breaking Bad or In Plain Sight. This includes, but is not limited to, actors, stuntmen, costume designers, hair and make-up professionals and assistants. Those involved will offer acting classes, tutorials, meet and greets and free professional headshot photos. It’ll all go down Wednesday February 16th between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

No one knows exactly how fruitful this may be for the filmmakers actually working in New Mexico, but there’s something inherently cool about the whole extravaganza. It’ll likely be a mob scene, making it difficult to stand out, but it’s hard to argue even being an extra on The Avengers wouldn’t be cool. If you live in the area, check it out. Hop on over to the above link for all the details.
