Mila Kunis Confirms Her Involvement In The Wachowski's Jupiter Ascending
Mila Kunis continues to capitalize on the favorable buzz built by her Black Swan performance. She earned laughs alongside Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits. She’s about to trade nasty barbs with a foul-mouthed teddy bear in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted. And the That ‘70s Show standout tells MTV she’s locked up a role in Andy and Lana Wachowski’s next feature, Jupiter Ascending.
Beyond that, she had very little else to say.
“Listen, I told you I'm doing it. That's the most I've told anybody," Kunis joked to the network when they pressed her on it.
MTV was following up on an earlier Deadline report claiming that the Matrix co-directors want Kunis and 21 Jump Street stud Channing Tatum for their sci-fi film. The story is being kept under serious wraps, but it’s the siblings’ first full-blown sci-fi film since Matrix, and is scheduled to start production later this year.
Before that, the Wachowskis played a part in directing Cloud Atlas with Run Lola Run helmer Tom Tykwer. Hopefully Atlas and this mysterious Jupiter Ascending will help wash the foul taste of Speed Racer out of our mouths. Kunis, meanwhile, also has a significant part in Sam Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful, and it’s assumed she’ll jump from that to Jupiter. We’ll likely see it in theaters by the summer of 2014, if the production goes as planned. What, exactly, will it be about? We’ll let you know as soon as more details emerge.
