Monday Movie Memo: The REAL Winner At The MTV Movie Awards Was...
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire might have taken home Movie of the Year at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night, but Francis Lawrence’s sequel wasn’t the big winner at the telecast.
Fans who are amped up for the upcoming Summer blockbuster season were treated to a buffet of exclusive (and often new) footage for movies like Seth MacFarlane A Million Ways to Die in the West, Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Most of it connected with the target audience. For a studio, advertising during the MTV Movie Awards is a slam dunk home run. But one studio hit a grand slam by bringing an outstanding clip for the MTV audience.
Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Watch this unreal clip of the mutant army in action, taking on lethal Sentinels. It’s fantastic!
That was just the start, though.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shared additional footage, giving fans the first look at Master Splinter.
Spider-Man took on Electro in Times Square.
Optimus Prime took on a Dinobot in a Transformers clip.
