Generally speaking, the best kinds of modern monster movies are the ones that don’t show all their cards at the beginning of the hand. They’re the ones that keep you wondering exactly what that shadowy mass will look like if it ever crawls out of the darkness. Easily compared to Cloverfield, Monsters is following the same tack by still, after three trailers, not giving the audience more than a quick peak at what their destroyer of worlds will look like.
A SXSW darling, Monsters was picked up by Magnet back in March. Maybe the monster is a Space Lord (obligatory Monster Magnet joke). Now that the October 29th release is fast approaching, Magnet is ramping up the marketing, making sure that everyone knows that this movie is coming.
This new trailer popped up over on Hulu so scope it out and prepare yourself to be taken over. Monsters will hit theaters limited in October, but should be available VOD style September 24th. Apologies to our friends abroad who won't be able to view the video.
