We all know that God is eventually going to get fed up with us and send His angels to wipe us off the face of the earth. Well, we don’t really know that, but it is the plot of a movie called Legion that’s about to start filming in New Mexico. Paul Bettany is going to be the archangel Michael, as we pointed out last month. It’s not going to be God against Paul Bettany, though, he’ll have some help.
Variety says that a real grab bag of actors led by Dennis Quaid are either on board or joining soon. Other names that will try to keep the good Lord from separating the wheat from the chaff are Tyrese Gibson, Jon Tenney, Charles S. Dutton, Lucas Black, Kate Walsh, Adrianne Palicki, Devin Durand, and Willa Holland. I’ve heard of the first four names but not the last four. That’s 50% recognition, which I guess isn’t too bad.
The thriller, directed by first timer Scott Stewart, is about a group of strangers who have to deliver a baby that is the second coming of Christ. The kicker is that God has already sent his “legion” of angels out to begin the apocalypse. I’m not sure I remember this story from the Bible, but maybe it’s in the back somewhere. I like the cast and the subject matter is intriguing to say the least.
