More Adventures For Madagascar Crew?
The second Madacascar film hasn’t even come out yet, and already there’s talk of a third chapter according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade magazine says DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg expects at least one more Madagascar flick before all is said and done.
Now wait a minute. Some of us have already professed having trouble remembering a second picture is coming out. The trailers aren’t exactly helping either, focusing more on a full cast version of “I Like to Move It” instead of showing any of the new characters. The second film, Escape 2 Africa, has barely even touched on the idea of the characters in Africa, other than the plane’s crash landing featured in both trailers issued so far.
Still, Katzenberg says a third chapter is out there. ” We ultimately want to see the characters make it back to New York,” the CEO said at a preview of the sequel. Oops, I guess that means New York won’t play a part in Escape 2 Africa, which hits theaters November 7th.
Interestingly, that plane crash I mentioned above was one of the featured clips at the preview, which makes me wonder just how much this movie is going to be about Africa, or whether audiences will just see that same clip over and over again for 90 minutes.
